Toyota is reportedly testing automatic versions of its sporty GR Yaris and GR Corolla hatchbacks, according to Australian automotive website GoAuto. Both vehicles have been equipped with automatic gearboxes and put through reliability tests. The Chief Engineer of the GR Corolla, Naoyuki Sakamoto, confirmed the testing of an automatic transmission for the GR Yaris in the Japanese rally team, and said that the GR company's central idea is always from motorsports development. The GR Corolla has a 300 horsepower, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine and a four-wheel-drive performance that can be adjusted by the driver. The Circuit Edition and Morizo Edition have front and rear Torsen Limited-Slip Differentials to improve cornering performance and grip.
